Next up for release on First State Music for 2012 is an impressive EP by a very talented and well-known Ukrainian producer presenting himself, this time, under the alias Coe.

This EP consists of two tracks: Cockatoo and Big Bang

Cockatoo begins nice and snappy on the intro with tight percs and quickly develops and drops into the first build. A crisp and slightly squelched bassline pulses through the low ends of the speakers complemented with some soft well balanced marimba-like notes in the high end. Filters along with some well-placed atmospherics pull the bassline back before revealing the main synth lines, which though simple, get the job done! Rising energy fills ones ears while developing through the main build before swiping some snare from the underside and releasing into pure progressive goodness.

Big Bang starts out strong and bouncy with a kick drum lightly covered by claps and hi-hats. A low rolled out bassline comes in to play to pair with the main melody of the synths. Atmospheric additions come into the background giving an almost enchanting but definitely energetic feel to the string section before a filtered main synth is re-introduced. Then off comes the filter, and its a deep, head encompassing sound that takes you on a cosmic trip to the stars with a full rich sound that is sure to take any DJs set to the next level.
