Released in the beginning of February 2011, Karl Simon – Saturn EP features the track Titan, a minimal techno killer. Verboten Records set a remix competition for it – and we have a big entry from ScEnToX.
The original track delivers an unsettling atmosphere full of whispers, deep breathing and interesting synths. ScEnToX takes the original to a slightly darker place – this could easily be the theme song from a mystery movie. The eerie synths keep you on the tip of your toes, always wondering what’s hidden on the next corner. It’s as if arrangement made you hold your breath whenever the air effects go from left to right – you can almost the walls closing in on you – as you try to escape. (Call Of Duty, anyone?)
Make sure to listen to it with quality headphones to give you the whole experience – pay attention to every crunchy noise, every delay. If you love it dark and intimate, this is your track.
While you wait for the competition results on September 7th, you can buy the original track on DJ Tunes | Amazon | Beatport |
